In Balestrand, beautifully located beside the Sognefjord, lies Kviknes Hotel. The Kvikne family have been the hosts here since 1877. The hotel was built in the Swiss style. There have been many new buildings, reconstructions and extensions since, but none of this has altered the special character of this place. In Balestrand there are great hiking trails to explore, you can join a thrilling rib boat ride, you can feel the peace in a kayak on the fjord or take a soothing bike ride through the village. We have 190 guest rooms, 165 in the modern building from the 60ies, 10 demi suites and , 10 rooms with view in the historic building and 3 upraded rooms in the historic building. The reception area connects the two buildings. We have a lobby bar where we offer ala carte menu and the grand dining room where breakfast and dinner is served. At Kviknes Hotel, we place great emphasis on culinary experiences. Local ingredients are used as far as possible and the Sognefjord is an outstanding larder. Our wine list is the largest and most varied in the Sognefjord. We have spacious lounges where you can enjoy the art and the spectacular view.
