East Jutland is called the heart of Denmark, and here lies Djursland, the nose of Denmark. The peninsula is known for castles and country estates, natural fertile landscape and the good, especially child-friendly beaches of the north coast. In the surrounding area there are many interesting places to visit, e.g. de large forests, Sostrup Monastery, Meilgaard Slot Castle, Stenvad Mosebrugcenter, the amusement park Djurs Sommerland and the Kattegatcentret. The larger cities of Randers, Grenaa, Ebeltoft and Aarhus are all worth a visit and each offer countless attractions and amusements. Only 2 km from the cottage is a dog forest.
