Hiking and biking in the shady forests, a boat trip with the old paddle steamer Hjejlen, a canoe trip on the Gudenå or a wonderful picnic at one of the many lakes with good swimming opportunities. For fishing enthusiasts, especially the lakes near Skanderborg are a fishing paradise, but also the many other lakes and the river Gudenå are ideal for fishing. The central location of this area allows you to visit many surrounding attractions. For example, you can reach Legoland, Givskud Lion Park, Djurs Sommerland amusement park, Kattegatcenter in Grenå, AQUA, Northern Europe's largest freshwater aquarium and Den Gamle By open-air museum within 1 hour drive. At Messecenter ovn Herning there are concerts and exhibitions.
