Description of hotel: Le Castella Ninfe Saracene CDS Hotels in Tropea

Along the beautiful Saracen Coast, whose seabed is a Marine Protected Area, in the heart of the locality named after the ancient fortress and just a few steps from a charming golden sandy beach, stands the elegant Hotel Ninfe Saracene. Myths and legends intertwine in the ancient history of the places surrounding the Hotel, from Calypso, described by Homer in his Odyssey, to Hannibal who took refuge among its cliffs, to the Aragonese who colonised it in the 15th century, giving their name to the Fortress, and finally to the Ottomans who dominated it for around two centuries. Everything in the Hotel evokes this last domination, from the furnishings to the splendid finishes and the influences in the exquisite dishes served at the restaurant. The beautiful Aragonese Fortress houses a museum and, inside it, visitors can observe the seabed of the Marine Protected Area in real-time, thanks to several underwater cameras positioned at a depth of 10 metres. A set for many films and TV series, Le Castella also features a harbour and is just a few kilometres from the Sila National Park, known for its pine forests and ski and cycling trails.
